What is this calculator for?

This tool calculates compaction percentages from field density readings and generates a distribution report for QA/QC documentation. Enter your nuclear density gauge or sand cone readings, and get a formatted summary showing pass/fail against your specified requirement — ready to include in your inspection records.

How to use it

  • Enter the Proctor MDD from your lab test report for the material being tested
  • Set your required compaction percentage — typically 95–100% depending on spec
  • Enter each field density reading on a new line in kg/m³
  • Click Generate Report to get a formatted distribution summary you can copy

Typical compaction requirements

Granular base: 98–100%
Granular subbase: 95–98%
Structural fill: 95–98%
Asphalt base: 96–98% Gmm
Asphalt wearing: 92–96% Gmm
